Full Service Law Firm Vs Boutique Law Firm

Full-service law firms have attorneys that specialize in a variety of different fields of law. On the other hand, boutique law firms do not have these co-workers. As a result, you’ll need to hire another lawyer to give you a second opinion. It is important to choose a law firm that has experience in the field you need help with. You’ll also get better rates if you hire a full-service law firm.

Traditional law firms often nickel and dime their clients. Their fee structures are complicated and oftentimes vague, and the client is left with a massive bill full of unexpected fees. In addition to the feeling that they’re being ripped off, many law firms reward attorneys for work they do not need to perform. It’s important to choose a firm that puts your needs first and provides the level of service you expect.

While large firms often offer more benefits and job support, a boutique firm’s focus is typically much more specialized. For example, a personal injury attorney will dedicate their time to researching and litigating cases relating to that particular field. This approach is advantageous in some cases, but it may not be right for you. A boutique firm may offer you the best of both worlds, but you should still carefully weigh your options before deciding which is right for you.

Another way to differentiate a full service law firm from a boutique one is its structure. While some firms have a clear hierarchy, others have a more flat structure. In a large law firm, partners elect an executive team. Although these executives have limited power, they still tend to have some decision-making authority. Some firms even assign partners the title of partner to the longest-serving partner. In this situation, the partner isn’t an owner.
